Hi lovely!! Hope you have had the best autumnal weekend 🙂To me this last weekend has been about investing time on myself. Being a freelancer it’s really hard for me to switch off. It might be because I’m very new to this lifestyle and I haven’t found a routine that works for me yet. I sometimes work from 9am till 8pm non stop and I absolutely love it because I’m passionate about my job. However, it’s not healthy at all.
Being a freelancer is hard, not gonna lie. You need to be confident and positive 24/7 and it takes all your energy, everyday. I’m in charge of everything, even the smallest details take time and it’s time that seems not worth investing at first. But then, it’s these small details which make the difference, so I need to be patient with that. I’m really lucky I have Javi by my side who takes all my photographs and films my videos. I can’t imagine how would it be without him, honestly. He helps me stay positive and to be more patient. He is the one that pushes me to trust myself many times but he also knows when I need a break. I am so focused on what I do that I don’t realise I need to disconnect and I always have the feeling of not having done enough in the day.
So this weekend, we decided to spend it enjoying Madrid and being tourists in our city. On Saturday we went to the Monkee Coffee, which is a really cute coffee shop named like the one I used to go when I lived in Manchester. The Funky Monkey Coffee in Stockport. We had toasts, a slice of sweet potato and oreo cake and two cappuccinos, it was all delicious! Then we headed to “Anden 0” which is an abandoned underground station built in the early 1920’s that is now a museum. It was incredible seeing how the first stations were completely build with tiles to prevent fire and even had a dome. We were both very impressed and the guide told us that the station was enchanted. Who knows, we didn’t see anything weird!
On Sunday we spent the whole day at “El Capricho” park, which is quite far from were we live but totally worth going. It used to be a private park and there are some really beautiful buildings and monuments. The sun was shining and it was the perfect day to disconnect and start the week with a lot of new and positive energy!! We are even going back this week for a shooting, so you see it was all worth the hour journey.
I took some pictures on my phone during the weekend and I thought you may like them. Take care!
